Nauru

Citizenship By Investment

The History of Nauru

Nauru, located in the equatorial Pacific, has been inhabited for 3000 years. When British explorers arrived in 1798 they named it the Pleasant Island. In the 19th century it became a colony of Germany and later of Australia. Nauruans are devoted Catholics and Protestants and deeply rooted in their local culture.

Nauru has been an independent republic with a functioning democracy since 1968. With around 12’000 inhabitants and 21sqkm land surface it is one of the smallest nations on earth. Phosphate was discovered in the early 20th century and the country became economically prosperous.

Nauru is a member of the United Nations (UNO), the Commonwealth and the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF). It pursues an independent foreign policy and does not maintain armed forces, though there is a police force under civilian control. Australia is responsible for Nauru’s defense under an agreement between the two countries.

Despite its small size, Nauru is well-connected to the world. The nation’s flagship carrier, Nauru Airlines, has been flying the Central and South Pacific for over 50 years. It connects the island to key destinations, including Brisbane, Nadi (Fiji), Tarawa (Kiribati), Majuro (Marshall Islands), and Honiara (Solomon Islands), with multiple flights per week.

Option for Citizenship-by Investment

The Nauru Economic and Climate Resilience Citizenship Program offers discerning investors the opportunity to acquire citizenship in a peaceful island paradise while contributing to vital national development initiatives, infrastructure improvements, renewable energy projects, and sustainable economic diversification efforts.
